Pierre, South Dakota is hosting a 3-day training program on Investigative Statement Analysis. This training will provide detectives and investigators with the ability to gather and assess information from people and to distinguish between truthfulness and deception within language, whether it’s written such as statements, transcripts, notes and memos, or spoken during interviews, interrogations, and 911 calls, etc. Through the analysis of the words people use, investigators will gain insight into the individuals thought process and obtain a tremendous tactical and psychological advantage to help prioritize and conduct effective interviews, direct investigations, and reach accurate conclusions regarding the veracity of the information people provide. This training delivers proven techniques which help investigators identify deception as well as truthfulness within language. Students will learn the psychological differences between truthful and deceptive people and how the stress associated with deception often manifests subconsciously within our choice of words. Many times even the motive for the crime will be identified through careful analysis, which often goes undetected by investigators who have not received training in this powerful technique. This highly regarded course is hands-on and students learn through individual and group exercises and practice on real-world cases.
If you don’t know what to look for, you don’t know what you’re missing in your interviews, interrogations and statements!
