There's Always More to the Story...

People can tell you a completely truthful story about an event and still lie to you. It is called “lying by omission” and it is one of the most common ways people lie. It’s not an outright lie where they provide you with false information, but it relates to the subtle ways people say things that makes it easy for them to deceive you, and most people don’t pick it up! The reason for this is that our brains make it easy for them to deceive us because we fill in the gaps. Learn to identify when and where people leave out information and how to effectively “fill in the blanks” whereby gathering all the necessary information so you can evaluate the credibility (of the person, HR investigation, business deal, strategic negotiation, etc.) and make sound operating decisions. In business, you talk with people every day, but are you missing what they are really saying? Are you being lied to without knowing it? This training will help you evaluate information, whether you are communicating with your staff and business partners, negotiating a contract, listening to a sales pitch or evaluating the information from a CEO or CFO regarding a potential business merger, acquisition or investment. This training will add value to conversations and communication over telephones, conference calls and internet-based communication as well, since it is based solely on the language and words people use.
